‘Lily in Transit’ Print

1x A5 print (210mm x 148mm), printed on 250gsm recycled paper.

I kept seeing these stamps everywhere and I had this very strong desire to create a painting where the stamps would form part of the background. 'Lily in Transit' is about capturing the very moment a flower blossoms, the very pivotal moment a new life is born.  Flowers all over the world are in transit, with the varying seasons some are in bloom, some are still sprouting. The summer I completed this painting was so transformative for me, I felt like I had birthed a new version of myself. Therefore, this piece is about how every flower all over the world cannot be in bloom at the same time. Some of us are blossoming, some of us are still growing. We are all in transit, and I think that is pretty okay.
